The enzyme mevalonate pyrophosphate decarboxylase (MVD) catalyzes the conversion of mevalonate pyrophosphate into isopentenyl pyrophosphate in one of the early steps in cholesterol biosynthesis. It decarboxylates and dehydrates its substrate while hydrolyzing ATP. Function: Performs the first committed step in the biosynthesis of isoprenes. Subunit: Homodimer. Tissue Specificity: Expressed in heart, skeletal muscle, lung,liver, brain, pancreas, kidney and placenta. Similarity: Belongs to the diphosphomevalonate decarboxylase family. Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded (mouse brain tissue); Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Antibody incubation with (MVD) Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-5085R) at 1:400 overnight at 4°C, followed by operating according to SP Kit(Rabbit) (sp-0023) instructionsand DAB staining.
