產品介紹 8-Hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8OHdG) is a modified base that occurs in DNA due to attack by hydroxyl radicals that are formed as byproducts and intermediates of aerobic metabolism and during oxidative stress. There is increasing evidence to support the involvement of free radical reactions in the damage of biomolecules that eventually lead to several diseases in humans, such as atherosclerosis, cerebral and heart ischemia-reperfusion injury, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation, diabetes, aging, and neurodegenerative conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease.

Function:
Oxoguanine 8 (8-Oxoguanine) is a mutagenic oxidative damage product of guanine. Guanine is the main target for reactive oxygen species in DNA, with 8-oxoguanine being the most frequent base lesion. Thus formation of 8-oxoguanine is an important biomarker of oxidative damage to DNA. It is primarily repaired by the DNA glycosylase OGG1.

8-OHDG作為內源性及外源性因素對DNA氧化損傷作用的生物標志物,是一個極有前途的指標,通過8-OHDG的檢測可以評估體內氧化損傷和修復的程度,氧化應激與DNA損傷的相互關系,對研究退行性疾病、衰老機制、癌發生機制、環境毒物與氧化應激的關系等均有重要的意義,也可以用來評價抗氧化劑治療DNA氧化損傷的效果。已經證實,飲食、超氧化物歧化酶、Melatonin等對8-OHDG水平具有調節作用。近期日本學者制成一種抗氧化作用雞尾酒,由葵花籽、綠茶和維生素c組成,證實了對FeC12誘導的8-OHDG異常增加有回調作用。隨著研究的深入,8-OHDG的應用范圍必將越來越廣,但到目前為止,各種檢測方法都還需進一步完善,因而深入開展這項研究工作將有十分重要的實際意義。
